SmartPrep Labs (“we”, “our”, “us”) operates the TCF Canada Mock Exam mobile application (the “App”). This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what your rights are.

1. Data We Collect

• Account information: name, email address, profile photo (via Google or Apple Sign-In).
• Practice data: answers to questions, written texts, voice recordings, scores, progress history.
• Preferences: language, theme, target NCLC level, reminders.
• Technical data: anonymous device identifier, OS version, crash logs (via Firebase Crashlytics).
• Purchase data: processed directly by Apple / Google through RevenueCat. We do not store any credit card information.

2. How We Use Your Data

• Provide and improve App features (progress tracking, AI evaluations, personalized training).
• Evaluate your written and oral productions using artificial intelligence models (OpenAI).
• Transcribe your voice recordings (OpenAI Whisper) and assess your pronunciation (Azure Speech Services).
• Generate audio for listening comprehension exercises (Google Cloud Text-to-Speech).
• Send reminders and notifications if you have enabled them.
• Improve App quality through aggregated, anonymized analytics.

3. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

• Firebase (Google) – authentication, database, storage, cloud functions, Crashlytics, Analytics.
• OpenAI – AI evaluation of written and oral productions, audio transcription.
• Microsoft Azure – French pronunciation assessment.
• Google Cloud – text-to-speech synthesis.
• RevenueCat – in-app subscription management.
• Google AdMob – advertising for free-tier users.

4. Voice Recordings

Your recordings are securely transmitted to our servers for transcription and evaluation, then deleted within 24 hours of processing. They are never used to train third-party AI models.

5. Storage & Security

• Data is stored on Firebase (Google Cloud Platform) servers located in North America.
• All communications are encrypted via TLS/SSL.
• Access to data is restricted by Firestore security rules: each user can only access their own data.

6. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time.

7. Your Rights

In accordance with applicable laws (GDPR, Quebec Law 25, PIPEDA), you have the right to:

• Access your personal data.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your data.
• Export your data in a readable format.
• Withdraw your consent at any time.

8. Children

The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. Significant changes will be notified through the App. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page.
