1. Introduction

Welcome to PTE Academic Prep ("App"), operated by SmartPrepLabs ("we", "our", "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application available on iOS and Android.

By using the App you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: When you register we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials (via Google, Apple, or email/password).

Usage data: We collect data on how you interact with the App, including practice sessions, scores, session duration, and feature usage.

Audio recordings: Speaking tasks require microphone access. Audio is sent to our servers for AI analysis and is not stored permanently — it is deleted immediately after scoring.

Device information: We may collect device type, operating system version, and app version for bug tracking and analytics.

Payment information: Subscription payments are processed by Apple App Store / Google Play. We do not store payment card details.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Provide and improve the App's features and AI feedback
• Track your progress and generate personalised training plans
• Send push notifications (with your consent)
• Manage your subscription and account
• Comply with legal obligations
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse

4. Firebase & Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Google Firebase – Authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Functions, Analytics
• Google Gemini / OpenAI – AI-powered feedback on practice responses
• Google AdMob – Advertising for free-tier users
• RevenueCat – Subscription management

Each third-party service has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data and practice history for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 8). Audio recordings are deleted immediately after AI analysis.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit and Firebase security rules for data at rest. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.

8. Your Rights & Account Deletion

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To delete your account and all associated data, visit:

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the App or email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
